Eilean Donan is a 13th-century castle situated on a small island
in the Scottish Highlands far away from the noise of city life.
In 2001 only one person lived on the island but every year
the castle is visited by many tourists. It’s one of the most
photographed castles in the world and is famous for appearing
in many popular films, including Highlander and The World
Is Not Enough.
B.
Edinburgh Castle, standing on a rock, high above Scotland’s
capital, was home to kings and queens. You should get there
in time for the firing of the One O’Clock Gun. The event
is so loud that it can be heard all around the city. The castle
houses the Crown Jewels of the Scottish monarchs.
Unfortunately, for security reasons you are not allowed
to make films or take pictures in the Crown Room where
the jewels can be seen.
